Anyone with an Internet connection can log on and see for themselves the customer service record of most remodelers. And there's nothing wrong with that. But what happens when the remodeler needs protection from the homeowner?
Until recently, nothing. But last year, Ohio remodeler Tey Marzetti launched The Contractor's Friendly Associate, a Web site devoted to help home improvement companies avoid “problem” clients. The subscription site has a database of consumers, who are rated by contractors in such areas as pay history, complaint frequency, and even personality. Interested?
