Force Multiplier. We used the Handi Strap harness to lug 5-gallon buckets of drywall compound, and it made the lifting much easier. It slips on overhead, like a shirt, and includes load-bearing straps that go around the shoulders and back, and from the shoulders to the hands. Because the straps pull taut before the arms fully extend, weight is taken off the arms and lower back and transferred to the shoulders and upper back. The harness also forces you to bend at your knees rather than at the waist. It costs $60. Web Devices, 800/262-4891. www.webdevices-usa.com
