With its waterproof leather upper and sensible tread, the Red Wing 6617 work boots look cool.
I’m not a big fan of protective-toe boots, which these are, but the zipper feature down the side looks interesting. And among the few words Red Wing says about the #6617—despite the exhaustive features list and available technologies on the shoe—is the description that they’re waterproof leather with a non-metallic toe. Hiker style, the tread looks like it would be sufficiently grippy while not holding on to a cubic yard of mud. $170.
