For years (maybe as long as JLC has been around, some 40 years), we have been hearing that building contractors are averse to change. This is not our impression at all. Rather, we recognize the risks contractors face in operating their businesses and appreciate their reservations about leaping onto every technology bandwagon that rolls down the road. Being cautious and practical are not the same as being stodgy, as too many others assume of the building trades.
To gain a better understanding of building product and technology changes in home building and remodeling, we have compiled a survey of questions and invite you to share your comments. Our goal is to learn about the products and systems that work for your company, as well as what clients are asking you for. Of particular interest are any shifts in client demand you have seen over the last few years and how you are responding to those shifts.
We welcome responses from all building professionals in the JLC community, including builders, remodelers, engineers, architects, energy raters, and code officials.
