Fiberon

Fiberon has introduced two new lines to replace its Outdoor Flooring and ProTect decking.

The company’s new premium decking (shown), which it began selling at the start of 2014, is called Paramount. Fiberon describes it as a cellular polymer board coextruded with a resilient surface layer that contains no organic material.

The decking, which carries a lifetime guarantee against mold and moisture damage, is 1 inch thick and 5 1/2 inches wide and comes in lengths of 12 feet, 16 feet, and 20 feet.

Paramount is available in two solid colors and three multicolored wood-grain tones, and in square-edged and grooved versions. Grooved boards can be installed with Fiberon’s Phantom Hidden Fasteners. Solid colors retail for $3.15 to $3.40 a linear foot; multicolor decking sells for between $3.75 and $4 a foot. Matching fascia is available.

To replace its ProTect line of lower-cost decking, Fiberon has begun making ProTect Advantage (not shown), a wood-plastic composite core capped on three sides with another polymer. It has a 20-year warranty for stain and fade resistance and comes in four colors. It’s available in the same lengths as Paramount and sells for between $2.50 and $3 a linear foot.
