Looking at the photo at left, you would be hard-pressed to find a door. That’s because the door is actually the screen panel on the left wall, which opens onto the deck. Using heavy-duty “pivot hinges” made by Rixson (rixson.com), a wood frame, and an outer L-channel steel frame, we were able to create what is essentially a rotating wall (above). When the panel is closed, it blends in seamlessly with the other three screen panels, complementing the clean, contemporary style of the rest of the porch.
