This carefully re-crafted kitchen originally was meant to be a part of an addition in a Los Angeles home’s remodeling plans. But when his client decided not to build the addition, Justin Krzyston, owner of Los Angeles-based Stonehurst Construction and Design, was tasked with the challenge of finding another space in the Hollywood Hills home that could accommodate the kitchen. Determined not to waste pre-ordered Wood-Mode custom cabinets, he worked with the cabinets’ dimensions and was able to use all but two in the new design. In an effort to maximize the space’s style and texture, subway tile grouted in light smoke was used to complement the white and grey marble countertops, while solid walnut hardwood flooring adds warmth.
