New OSHA directive forces builders to reconsider jobsite fall prevention. Over the next several months, the Home Builders Institute (HBI), the workforce development arm of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), will be visiting cities around the country to talk up a new training program called Sed de Saber-Construction Edition aimed at helping contractors reduce jobsite falls among Hispanic workers. The program is HBI’s response to a new OSHA directive issued last month that rescinds a former 1994 directive, which allowed residential builders to bypass fall-protection requirements. (Builder)
