Adam Bradshaw and Buckeye Basements

When Ohio-based Buckeye Basements was commissioned to finish this 1,870-square-foot basement, the clients were interested in a multitude of spaces, including a large bar, media room, gaming areas, and a potential future bedroom. In order to make their dreams come true, the specialty remodeling firm designed a space that accommodated all their wants and needs.

Designed to host up to 12 people, the custom wood island bar has a multi-angled shape and is topped with a mirrored plafond on the ceiling with dimmable, recessed canister lights. A stone backsplash, custom maple cabinets, and open shelving complete the back of the bar, with a wall-mounted television, dual-tapped kegerator, and glass door appliances.

Off the bar, barn doors with glass panels section off the potential bedroom, which can also function as an additional gaming area.

In the basement’s carpeted section, a custom-built entertainment center, matching the bar cabinetry, was built around a 94-inch theater screen with surrounding open shelving and storage. A sitting area with a sectional couch and lounge chair is lit with more dimmable lighting, in order to provide optimal theater viewing.

To complete the modern rustic look, Buckeye Basements painted the walls a shade of blue and installed crown molding on the bottom half, with the top serving as a drink ledge. The steel support beams were encased in wood and stone and separate the wood plank tiled bar area from the carpeted media room.
