The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the University of Minnesota have launched a Web site that covers a range of research on design and human behavior. The site, www.informedesign.com, contains easy-to-use summaries of the research from more than 200 journals. Examples of research topics include the effects of residential crowding on the psychological health of children, the risk of home injury among the elderly, and the ways in which aging influences people's color judgment.
The purpose of the site is to help designers create spaces that truly serve their customers. To that end, informedesign.com also features online discussion topics, a monthly newsletter, and a calendar of research-related events.
