DeWalt/Ford Tool Link RFID
Communication and computer technologies have clearly made their way onto our jobsites. That's why we're giving an Editors' Choice Award to DeWalt and Ford for their computerized radio frequency identification system called Tool Link, part of Ford's Work Solutions integrated computer stations. Tool Link scans the truck for tools ID'd with special labels, and reports what's there on a dashboard computer screen. This system boosts contractors' abilities to track their valuable tools, saving time and trouble every day. The system will be available next fall in 2009 Ford pickup and van models.
