Hate breathing dust? You should because silica dust can kill or disable you if you are exposed to enough of it over a long enough period of time to develop silicosis. The Metabo ASR 35 ACP dust extractor would be one way to avoid exposure (video below).
When equipped with HEPA filters it will capture the silica dust produced by drilling, cutting, and grinding concrete. “Old fashioned” vacs quickly clog when used to collect very fine dust. High-end vacs such as this one have self-cleaning filters that allow them to collect very fine dust without clogging. Metabo uses an automatic shaking mechanism to knock the dust off. The ASR 35 ACP can be used with standard filters for collecting less fine dust and for tasks that don’t require HEPA.
