SPRAY IT: Spray cellulose fills stud cavities completely, sealing off most air leaks and preventing convection within the wall. Cellulose insulation is made by a milling process that grinds together two raw materials: paper stock and chemicals. The chemicals are fire retardants, corrosion inhibitors, and, in the case of spray products, adhesives and wetting agents. There are two major types of cellulose: loose-fill and sprays.
