- Q.For gluing exterior
wood trim components that will be exposed to the
weather, but not submerged under water, what’s
best: resorcinol, epoxy, or a polyurethane
glue?
A.Any one of these
will work, as long as the joint has good
wood-to-wood contact. Personally, I think that
epoxies and resorcinols have the best outdoor
endurance qualities. For those joints that may be a
bit loose, epoxy is the best, as it has the best
structural and gap-filling qualities.
