Once again, manufacturers are
redefining our ideas about cordless
tools with higher battery voltages and
applications we would only have
guessed at a few years ago. Here is a
closer look at three new cordless saws
which were introduced at the 1999
National Hardware Show in Chicago.
Bosch 24-Volt
The 24-volt Bosch Model 3960CFK is
actually a kit which includes a 61/2-inch
blade-left cordless saw with a dust port
for vacuum attachment, a 24-volt
drill/driver, a 24-volt flashlight, two batteries,
a charger, and a plastic case, all
for about $489.
The 3,600 rpm 9.2 lb. saw has
enough power to rip framing lumber, is
stable through the cut, has a comfortable
grip and easy-to-use controls. The
2 amp-hour battery provides
