trade of drywall finishing, mostly
because builders don't know what's
available. When odd angles can't be
avoided, they're usually handled with
specialty tapes, such as Sure Corner
or Flex-Corner and lots of mud. Special
effects, like trimless drywall
returns on doors and windows, are
possible, but there's a limit to what
you can do with standard accessories.
A wide variety of specialty trims,
however, offer alternatives to the
usual crisp, straight corners and flush
edge treatments. Specialty trims
make it possible to build details that
are too difficult, and therefore too
expensive, to produce by hand.
