James McGuyrt of Sigmon Construction was browsing through his local home improvement store when he saw that DeWalt was handing out demo videos for its new 18-volt cordless finish nailer. He took a video home and soon returned to purchase the nailer. “I'm a big fan of it. It's a good portable gun,” he says. The cordless convenience is definitely part of the appeal. “You don't need a compressor or to drag around hoses,” McGuyrt says. “It's ready to shoot right when you need it.” DeWalt offers the nailer in both straight and 20-degree angled magazine configurations, which accept generic 16-gauge finish nails along with DeWalt and Paslode 16-gauge 20-degree angled nails. The tool comes in both multi-volt and 18-volt platforms.

McGuyrt uses the nailer on interior trim but says that it really shines on exterior use. “It's especially nice when you're up on a ladder, you don't have hoses, you (just) clip it on your belt. It's lightweight.” The nailer comes with a case, two batteries, and a charger.
