By Christopher Walker The International Code Council member organizations -- BOCA, ICBO, and SBCCI -- are working to develop a merger plan to present for a vote at their Joint Conference in the fall of 2002. The successful development of that plan and a subsequent affirmative vote at the conference would leave only the final step of implementation to complete the merger, which could occur as early as January 2003, an ICC press release states.

"We can only proceed at a pace that will result in the strongest possible single organization," says Jon S. Traw, CEO of ICBO. "A projected implementation date in January 2003 is still realistic."
