By Nina Patel. According to a survey conducted by this magazine, about 27% of projects completed by remodeling companies in 2001 involved kitchens and 23% involved baths. The kitchen jobs accounted for about one-quarter of a company's revenues and bathrooms accounted for about 18%. Also according to the survey, the average kitchen job cost $26,100 and the bath projects cost $13,700.

The top resources remodelers say they use to help their clients choose products are product samples, catalogs, visits to completed projects, and trade magazines.
