New York Town Passes “Dark Skies” Law

The Town Board in Shelter Island, N.Y., has approved an ordinance limiting outdoor lighting. Opponents of the “dark sky” law, which is designed to limit light pollution, said the measure amounts to unnecessary government intrusion.
