The federal tax credits available for energy-efficient home upgrades ends December 31, 2010. Since the first year of this two-year program is coming to a close, remodelers need to start thinking about clients they’ll be working with in the New Year that can take advantage of these available government funds for the next 12 months. The program offers homeowners a 30% tax credit up to $1,500 for qualified building envelope upgrades, and a full 30% credit for alternative energy products, such as solar panels and wind turbines. Visit Remodeling’s sister website The Stimulus Source for more information on the products that are eligible.
