Hitch up that toolbelt — REMODELING readers are busy. In a recent Reader Panel survey, 23% of respondents said they completed six to 10 remodeling projects last year, while another 21% completed between 11 and 19 projects, and 13% completed 20 to 25.
When dealing with so many different projects, clients, timelines, and all the “what ifs?” that come with them, one rock of consistency to which remodelers can turn is a tried-and-true manufacturer. Chances are, every REMODELING reader has a favorite manufacturer for each product category — from cabinets and siding to the tools used to install them. Whether these preferences are due to ease of use, durability, style, or customer support, contractors know who they will turn to for just the right products for their jobs.
In each issue of REMODELING, you'll find dozens of new products to consider adding to your list of favorites. This month, however, we've turned our products pages over to you, the readers. In our survey, we asked readers to tell us their preferred manufacturers in 17 categories, several that don't often get coverage in regular issues. Specpan, a division of The Farnsworth Group, conducted the survey, and the results are in. Readers identified their three favorite manufacturers in each category, and we've highlighted the products each of the No. 1 companies told us were newest or best-selling.
Certainly, there's something to be said for working with a manufacturer you haven't used before, or trying out a new gadget that just might solve all your problems. Who knows? You may find a new favorite.
