The book I just finished reading is titled The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment, by Eckhart Tolle. It offers a wealth of inspiration and ideas about how thoughts and feelings can hamper your ability to live happily “in the now.” Through reading this book and taking the courses offered by Landmark Education (www.landmarkeducation.com), my quality of life and my sales for the company have both really improved.

The book and training helped me to tell clients the truth instead of what I know they want to hear. Doing this adds a level of integrity that clients can sense, and they want to do business with you. The book also encourages full self-expression. If I am excited about something in the clients' lives or with their project, I tell them. Your reality is your perception of their lives —you really have to shut down your judgements and participate in the conversations.

Constant reading helps enhance my communication skills. And living in an academic town like Ithaca, it helps me relate more easily to my clients no matter what their discipline.
