Installing a skylight can be a simple one-off job or the icing on the cake of a larger remodeling project. Either way, Matt Philbin sleeps better knowing he won't get callbacks on the Velux skylights he uses exclusively. “When it comes to skylights, you just can't have leaks. Velux allows us to incorporate skylights into our remodeled kitchens and baths without worrying about the brand new space below being damaged by leaks.” The skylights feature three levels of UV protection and come in a variety of styles, including remote-controlled electric venting.
Philbin is also pleased with Velux, the manufacturer. “They have a great warranty and offer quick service to the client and the contractor,” he says. Although a simple skylight job may not bring in a huge profit, Philbin believes the high quality of the product inspires trust and often leads to future jobs. “We get to meet a new client and make a great first impression. We have already done large projects that came to us as a result of a prior skylight installation.”
