Bobby Parks, owner of Peachtree Decks and Porches in Alpharetta, Ga., wrote an article in this issue on the importance of "wow" factors on decks, and it seems appropriate to feature one of his recent projects on this page. At more than 1,700 square feet, this whole deck qualifies as a "wow" factor. It's decked with TimberTech Earthwood Evolutions and trimmed with PVC. The rail is pressure-treated wood, and it and the trim are painted with Sherwin Williams Duration in a color matched to the house trim. The black aluminum balusters are topped by a 1-inch routed PVC rail cap painted to complement the decking.
