The American Wood Council - which publishes DCA 6 (the Prescriptive Residential Wood Deck Construction Guide) - is offering a free webinar on significant changes to deck provisions in the 2018 IRC. Presenter Sandra Hyde of the ICC will focus the discussion on the vertical and lateral load paths of conventional residential decks, footing sizes and materials, and navigating the beam and joist span tables. According to AWC, 0.1 Continuing Education Units (CEU) or 1 Professional Development Hour (PDH) is available to attendees of the webinar, which is scheduled from 10:55 am to noon EST on Thursday, May 23, 2019.
