Data based on research from the USDA Forest Products Laboratory (FPL). Expected life predictions are for one and two coats of each finish at an average location in the continental United States. This expected life will vary in extreme climates or exposure. For a summary discussion and detailed information about the different exterior finish choices, see this FPL bulletin (PDF).
