There's something for everyone - architects, builders and remodelers - in Matt Risinger's latest video blog, live from IBS in Las Vegas. In his first in a series of videos with support from JLC, Matt visits the Marvin booth where he discovered a U-0.22/ 0.16 SHGC hopper-style window, specifically targeted to the Passive House crowd. The new window can be clamped down for a super-tight seal, yet looks like a standard double-hung. As Matts says: "Nothing funky here, none of that European window that looks extra chunky."
In addition, Marvin introduced it's an answer to NanaWall: The Ultimate Multi-Slide Door. By ganging units you can create a clear opening up to 50-feet-wide by 12-feet-high. And even if you go with a more modest size opening, you get a tight-sealing slider on a stainless steel track system that operates super smooth.
Along the same lines of "bringing the outdoors in," Marvin has introduced a corner unit to its line of Lift-and-Slide glass doors - a tight-sealing slider with a hiddden track.
Finally, there's Integrity Windows - one of Matt's favorite replacement fiberglass windows, which have a reasonable price point, yet the strength and performance of a higher-end window line.
And all Marvin units are made in the USA.
