At the time it was built in 1883, the house at 29 Plant Avenue in Webster Groves, Mo., faced Lockwood Avenue, because Plant Avenue didn't exist. Fast forward to March, 2013, when the current owners contracted to have the house placed on a new foundation … but not before rotating it 90 degrees so that the front of the house faces Plant Avenue. This will also enable them to restore the front porches, which old photos show ran the full length of both stories.
