Letters Timber Frame Hocus finished ceiling and vapor barrier to Pocus To the Editor: I would like to respond to Steve Chappell's article on "Hybrid Timber Frames," NEB 4/88. Dave Lindeman (see lead photo in article) and I developed the hybrid frame in response to design problems that were present in several houses. The goal was to create structural integrity and visual interest in "public" areas, such as living, dining, kitchen, and sunrooms. It seemed absurd to timber-frame the entire structure to achieve a limited design element in a limited area.
