Sealection Agribalance is an open-cell, semi-rigid polyurethane spray foam that contains more than 20% renewable agriculture-based products (refined vegetable oils). The product creates a healthier, quieter, and more energy-efficient environment by providing a high R-value and sealing cracks, gaps, and voids in attics, walls, and ceilings, the maker says.

The maker's Cocoon insulation has been rebranded as GreenFiber to promote the natural fiber advantages of the cellulose insulation. Because it is made of 85% recycled content, the maker says GreenFiber diverts approximately 500,000 tons of paper product from landfills annually. In addition to increased R-value, GreenFiber also helps create a quieter home environment with a 0.9 noise-reduction coefficient.

Styrofoam SIS Structural Insulated Sheathing combines structural shear bracing, insulation, and water-resistive barrier protection in one product. The lightweight material saves on labor costs by allowing installers to complete three steps in one pass around the house. The ½ -inch-thick boards offer an R-value of 3, and 1-inch-thick boards have an R-value of 5.5. Additionally, proper installation can reduce air infiltration for further increased efficiency.

Designed for frame walls, the combination of reflective and spray-foam insulations makes Flash & Foil an insulation system that lowers cost, addresses radiant heat flow, increases R-values, and can function as a vapor retarder, the maker says. Installation begins by spraying a thin layer of foam insulation on the back side of the frame wall to seal the cavity, then applying the maker's three-layer VR Plus Shield reflective insulation to the face of the studs. Depending on the foam used, boosted R-values can range from R-11 to R-20.
