With 2-D barcodes appearing in more and more places, remodelers are getting in on the barcode action. Phil Vanderloo, owner of Hiline Builders, in Fair Oaks, Calif., says that he “stumbled across” the QR-Code Generator by Kaywa, which lets you write your own code for free.
A “QR code” (quick response code) is a barcode that can be read by dedicated barcode readers and camera phones. Viewers can take a picture and it will bring them directly to a website.
Vanderloo used the QR-Code Generator to create a barcode, which he then put on all his company's marketing materials including business cards, flyers, brochures, and signs.
