Al Gernhardt's crew found this shocking sight behind the wall on a kitchen remodel.
The production manager of Dutchess Building Specialists in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., says lead carpenter John Froehlich was pulling out drywall when he came across this squirrel skeleton with its teeth locked around a live wire.
All the crews carry disposable cameras to document projects, so he stopped to take a snapshot of the interesting find.
"The homeowner mentioned hearing things in the walls over the years but couldn't figure out what it was," Gernhardt says. Apparently the noises had stopped.
