There's a safer portable jobsite table saw on the market now, thanks to SawStop. The brand is well-know for its safety technology that slams a brake into a spinning saw blade to prevent serious injury if flesh contacts the blade. The technology hasn't been used in portable table saws until now. Just like other SawStop saws, sensors in the Jobsite Saw detects contact with skin on the blade and stops and drops the blade in less than 5 milliseconds.
In addition to the technology, the Jobsite Saw is lightweight at only 108 pounds, and also showcases new features that increase accuracy, save time, and improve results, such as one-turn elevation and a T-style fence. Other features include a low-profile blade guard, large wheels for easy portability, and an accessory drawer. “When we debuted our first saw over 10 years ago, we knew that the portable SawStop was not only possible, but essential to protecting saw operators," says SawStop inventor and President Dr. Stephen Gass. "I am very proud of our new saw. It’s so much safer than anything else, but also improves the user experience in exciting new ways.”
The SawStop Jobiste Saw comes in at $1,300, and replacement cartridges cost $69 each. The price tag may seem steep compared to other portable table saws, but we think it's well under the cost of a missing finger or worse.
