More than 17,000 women volunteers began this weekend building and renovating affordable homes alongside future homeowners as part of Habitat for Humanity and Lowe’s 10th-annual National Women Build Week.

Women's crews have been jumping in to assist Habitat for nine years, making over 3,800 homes habitable for families. Last year's Women Build included the construction and repair of 650 homes, as well as neighborhood revitalization projects and building to green standards. This year, with the help of Lowe’s Heroes volunteers, they expect to build and renovate an equal number of Habitat homes in nearly 50 states, all in just one week.
