Recently, Angie’s List announced it will put plans to expand its headquarters in Indianapolis on hold based on the state’s passage of a bill that many believe will allow businesses to discriminate against gay couples by citing religious beliefs. Angie's List joins a list of other businesses that have spoken out against the new law.

"We are putting the 'Ford Building Project' on hold until we fully understand the implications of the freedom restoration act on our employees, both current and future," Angie's List CEO Bill Oesterle said. "Angie's List is open to all and discriminates against none and we are hugely disappointed in what this bill represents."

For the remodeling community, Angie's List has long been a controversial topic. In response to a 2013 earnings report, one reader wrote in suggesting an industry boycott of Angie’s List. Last year Remodeling asked our audience to weigh in on the subject. Many of you were unhappy with the company and spoke up in the comments.

Current news coverage may have members of the conservative religious community jumping on the boycott Angie’s List bandwagon.
