Brian Diamond, CEO of Omaha-based Quality Home Exteriors, has won the 2017 Fred Case Remodeling Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Diamond received the award, which includes a $10,000 first-prize check, at an awards dinner and gala during the Remodelers Advantage & Remodeling Summit in Minneapolis on Sept. 27.
The three finalists for this year's award were also honored: Abby Binder of Abby Windows in Milwaukee, Wisc.; Ken Combs of CQCHome in Durham, N.C.; and Zach Snider of Alloy Architecture and Construction in Charlottesville, Va. Each finalist, plus Diamond, received a plaque and a $2,500 prize.

This is the 11th anniversary of the award, established by Fred Case in 2006 to honor remodeling industry leaders who demonstrate excellent business acumen, company financial strength, community and industry involvement, and entrepreneurial spirit. The award is open to all remodeling company leaders and recognizes specific individuals, not a company. This is the only industry award of its kind in that a cash prize is awarded to finalists as well as to the winner.
Quality Home Exteriors, a 3-year-old company that posted $2.3 million in revenue in 2016. It specializes in exterior replacement services. Diamond impressed the judges with his revenue growth in such a short time, his extensive business plan, and his commitment to integrating technology into his company.
According to the judges, "“Developing a comprehensive business plan is one thing….putting it into action requires a higher level of discipline and of execution. Brian Diamond uses his 5 year business plan as a “roadmap” that keeps him and his team on track to achieve their goals and dreams."
