The latest release of Autokitchen, from Microcad Software, features improved photorealistic rendering abilities that allow designers to take clients on a lifelike virtual walkthrough of their kitchen.

Based on the AutoCAD 2008 engine, the company says the crisp architectural plans and perspectives that Autokitchen 8 design software generates will impress clients. And a new compass feature allows designers to fix a point of view and to then use the keyboard to zoom in and out and turn.

Designers rely on details and accessories to add a personal touch to their kitchen projects. To aid them in this, Autokitchen 8 comes with extensive universal and customizable catalogs of objects and blocks, including the latest cabinet shapes and door styles, as well as appliances and accessories. Autokitchen 8 also features accessory finishes, including tiles and pavers in a broad range of sizes.

Users can generate reports and specification lists in XML format or export them to Microsoft Excel, which makes it easier to exchange data with manufacturers. Autokitchen 8 is only available in the Pro version. The company will continue selling Autokitchen Studio version 7.5 through 2008.
