And the winner of the Remodeling Design Awards’ Readers’ Choice is ... (drumroll) “Project No. 3” — a skillful addition to a suburban Washington, D.C., Colonial.
Designed by Lisa Wood, of GTM Architects, in Bethesda, Md., and built by Steve Buick of Steve Buick Carpentry, in Waldorf, Md., the addition helped modernize a 1920s-era home.
The judges awarded a “grand” distinction to the project, saying, “The plan, the spaces, and the details ... are appropriate to the original while creating something far better than its parts.”
