At Ewing Building & Remodeling’s showroom, in Blacksburg, Va., displays are fitted with a range of storage accessories to help clients review their options, such as this pegboard inside a 3-inch-wide pull-out for hanging kitchen utensils.
One client sought a better way to organize her cleaning supplies, so company designer Richard Anuszkiewicz specified a similar pegboard storage organizer for a 9-inch-wide pull-out base. The organizer allows the homeowner to hang her individual cleaning bottles within easy reach — instead of digging around under the sink base.
Anuszkiewicz says that the company’s designers often map out storage for clients — in some cases taking an inventory of the homeowners’ kitchen items.
Both Hafele and Rev-A-Shelf make a pegboard accessory. Designers at Ewing Building & Remodeling simply order the accessories, and the crew installs them on site.
Although Anuszkiewicz says that accessories are the first thing to go when a client makes budget cuts, he often specifies the cabinet bases that can hold specific storage accessories so they can be added later.
