By Christopher Walker. A study by New York market research firm Scarborough Research this year found that individuals who use the Internet extensively to research and to shop are 19% more likely than the norm to begin a home improvement project.

The study also found that listeners of classic rock, new country, and all-sports radio stations are 14% more likely than the norm to take on a home improvement project.

The study's data were derived from phone interviews with 200,000 adults in 35 major U.S. markets.
