Manufacturer GAF and the National Roofing Contractors Association have teamed up with the Indy Racing League (IRL) to produce a safety program, available on DVD, called "Race to be Safe."
The DVD is a response to the insurance crisis facing the industry. The aim is to increase safety awareness, which will lead to fewer on-the-job accidents, and therefore lower insurance rates.
"Race to be Safe" combines roofing safety instruction with a behind-the-scenes look at IRL's safety program -- with a healthy dose of racing action mixed in. GAF spokesperson Diane Gola says that the IRL's contribution to the DVD should help its popularity, given that a sizable number of those in the roofing industry are also racing fans.
"Race to be Safe" is available, free of charge, from GAF salespeople, as well as from the manufacturer's Center for the Advancement of Roofing Excellence. E-mail [email protected] or call (866) 671-2273 for more information.
