Sparked by changing trends and increasing demands, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) announced this week that it relaunched Greenbuild365, its Web site dedicated to providing sustainable building resources for industry professionals. As part of the relaunch, the Web site will offer even more free and fee-based online courses,  podcasts, and speaker presentations from USGBC's annual Greenbuild conference.

"The fundamental driving force in the green building movement is the work of innovative building professionals; such leadership is a critical component to achieving USGBC's mission of a sustainable built environment for all within a generation," said Peter Templeton, senior vice president of research and education, in a press release. "Greenbuild365 gives us a platform where that leadership and knowledge from a broad range of disciplines–design, construction, real estate, education, and more–can be shared around the globe."

Once again, the USGBC received support from United Technologies (UTC), which donated $1 million to the Web site’s initial launch last year. For the relaunch, the Hartford, Conn.-based manufacturer is providing free online courses to all team leaders at the 1,700 Habitat for Humanity sites across the country.

So far, Greenbuild365 has been received well: From its original launch on Nov. 11, 2007 through Dec. 31, the Web site attracted 2.1 million total page views.
