The Makita 18V X2 LXT Brushless 14-inch Cut-Off Saw is a 36V chop-style saw designed for light-gauge metals. According to the manufacturer, the saw can handle metal stud and strut, pipe, all threaded bar, conduit, tubing, and rebar. It features a brushless motor that runs at 3,800 rpm. Its cutting capacity includes up to 5-inch round and 4-by-7-5/8-inch rectangular tubing. It has a “tool-less” fence and vise controls, and a large spark guard. Additional features include an electric brake, a large handle, and two-stage lock-off power button.
The kit comes complete with 14-inch Cut-Off Saw (XWL01Z), two 18V LXT Lithium-ion 5.0-Ah batteries (BL1850B), an 18V LXT Lithium-ion Dual Port Charger (DC18RD), and 14” x 1” x 3/32” Abrasive Cut-Off Wheel (B-64705). Expected cost: $650 (kit) $370 (tool only)
