Part of DeWalt’s Perform & Protect tool line, this SDS Plus rotary hammer has two ways to prevent sudden high torque reactions, an integral clutch and an E-Clutch (electronic clutch). The integral clutch disengages the chuck from the motor in a manner similar to that of a drill/driver clutch. The E-Clutch prevents the tool from whipping around when the bit jams, as can happen when you hit rebar. When it senses a jam, the E-Clutch instantly slows the motor to a crawl—thereby reducing the chance of injury.

According to the manufacturer the tool will launch in June of this year and have a street price of $499.
