Metabo recently added a new impact driver its lineup. The SSD 18 LTX 200 BL is a powerful, and, when equipped with a compact 4.0-Ah LiHD, relatively lightweight brushless impact driver. Automatic Power Shift (APS) monitors drilling speed and automatically adjusts torque when working self-tapping screws. In my experience so far the motor is silky smooth and the rubberized trigger modulation feels great in the hand. A dial at the tool base provides 12 driver speed/torque setting modes: Self tapping screw (S) , 1-10 speed & torque levels, and full power (P).
