The made-in-U.S.A. work-apparel company 1620 Workwear and German workwear leader Strauss have joined forces on a line of technical work pants that are available exclusively in the United States from www.strauss.com.

According to Massachusetts-based 1620 (the name stems from the year the Mayflower anchored at Plymouth Rock), the collaboration between the two companies combines Strauss’ workwear design language with 1620’s best-in-class fabrics. 1620 has proven itself in the U.S. workwear market with high-tech fabrics that are entirely woven and stitched together in the U.S.
The Strauss + 1620 collaborative line features 1620's Stretch NYCO fabric, which is made from a cotton/nylon/spandex blend that is 10 times more abrasion resistant than 100% cotton duck, according to 1620. Stretch NYCO reportedly dries twice as fast as cotton, and meets the "no melt/no drip" NFPA1975 standard, which 1620 reports is "great for guys working around flames, sparks or tailpipes." These pants also feature a Strauss innovation dubbed "Flexbelt" - a comfortable, flexible waistband system designed for all-day comfort and movement.
The limited-edition collection includes two high-performance pants - one with reinforced knees that include a knee-pad pocket, and a more traditional "multipocket" work pant. According to the makers, the pants are guaranteed for life. If the materials or craftsmanship don’t hold up, Strauss (which has operations based in the U.S.) says it will repair or replace them—no questions asked.
