Exoskeleton suits are not just things dreamed up in Hollywood special effects studios anymore – they actually exist, and are used by thousands of people. Ekso Bionics started making them at first with intentions of building Iron Man suits for the military, but then later developed them for physical therapy patients. Powered walking suits now exist that help people learn to walk again after strokes or accidents. Ekso Bionics is breaking into the construction market next. The Ekso Works Industrial Exoskeleton is a powerless frame that aides the user in lifting heavy power tools, making them seem as if they weigh little.
Wired posted a video the goes into some detail about exobionics and shows the suit in motion.
