Your next visit to REMODELING’s website might give you a shock. This morning, we unveiled a completely revamped new look with new features designed to help you more easily find management tools, data such as our Cost vs. Value Report, product news, and advice on how to improve your business. We've also made the site a more visual experience, delivering lots more videos, interactive charts, and pictures.
The new look eliminates the 10 sections and roughly 50 subsections with a streamlined format that organizes the site into four editorial areas—news, products, how-to, and benchmarks—plus a list of special services. The navigation bar also may contain a link to an important hot link; currently it’s the 2014 Cost vs. Value Report, which also went live today.
Further down, you’ll find, colorful sections for the latest news, top features, and REMODELING’s platoon of advice columnists. We also give prominent play on the home page to videos, the latest product news, and key statistics worth remembering. Expect a dramatic increase in videos and photo essays (such as our look at new products from the Consumer Electronics Show) in coming months.
Article pages got a facelift to make them not only easier to read but also easier to access related stories based on common keywords. We also are in the midst of creating new articles that bring into one place ideas and tips that currently force you to sift through several stories to get the full benefit.
REMODELING’s slogan is “Your Toolbox for Success,” and with today’s changes we aim to give you a better-looking toolbox with more valuable tools inside. But just as many remodeling projects never end, we expect to be retooling this place for quite a while. So please send me your comments and suggestions. We’re here to serve you.
