In January, we changed the name of the Remodelers' Show to the Remodeling Show, partly because we wanted to emphasize that the Show is an extension of the magazine. At the same time, the name change signals that as the Remodeling Show continues to grow, it encompasses more and more of the diverse elements that make up today's remodeling industry.
The next logical step was to introduce this new “In Person” section as a regular department in the magazine. Check this page for the latest developments on the who, what, where, and when of the Remodeling Show.
Step One The best way to start planning is to visit the official Remodeling Show Web site at www.theremodelingshow.com . The site provides a complete schedule of educational seminars, association training, on-floor demonstrations, special events, and after-hours activities. There's always more to do at the Show than time to do it in, so an early look at the site will help start you and your team thinking about what's most important.
At the site, you can book a room at one of several hotels for which the Remodeling Show has negotiated special pricing. You can also reserve a flight to either Chicago's O'Hare International Airport or Midway Airport. And if you purchase airline tickets more than 60 days in advance, you can save an additional 5% with an early bird airfare discount on American, American West, Continental, Delta, or Northwest, or 3% on US Airways.

Continuing Education Credits The Remodeling Show is more inclusive than ever. This year, for example, in addition to certification classes for NAHB, which begin on Monday, Oct. 4, you can earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in an expanded program that includes the American Institute of Building Design (AIBD), American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), International Interior Design Association (IIDA), and the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA).
Replacement Contractors Welcome For the first time, Dave Yoho's Super Sales seminar — an educational program designed expressly for replacement contractors — will be included in the full registration package for the Remodeling Show and co-located at the Chicago site. A second seminar, scheduled for Oct. 7 and covering replacement industry management topics, requires separate registration at Yoho's site (www.daveyoho.com) but includes access to the trade show floor.
